Don't Compare

Theodore Roosevelt is credited as saying, "Comparison is the thief of joy." While he may be right, most of us, I would think, still find it difficult not to look at our neighbor, coworker, friend, or person facing a challenge, and not compare circumstances.

Comparison, in good times, is bad enough, but in challenging times, comparison can take away our spirit, and leave us with a void. Why is this person enjoying life while I am left to deal with these challenges, you may ask yourself?

Don't fall prey to the comparison thinking. You have your own, unique story. You are also not able to see, sometimes, what other people are going through. We all have our own challenges. Let this be a day that we discover our own path.
