When we are faced with challenges, we should be prepared for the unpredictable. Even if we are making progress, it seems that it is never in a straight line. We might take two steps forward, and then take one step back. Just when we see some good signs, something comes along to dampen our spirit.
Mountain climbers have an established routine where they climb a certain distance, then move back down to acclimatize their bodies to the increasing elevation. This is not the fastest way to the top, but a necessary step for success.
Remember to expect the up and down nature of facing and trying to overcome challenges. Have faith, but be realistic in our approach. We are also not our best everyday, either. Our progress can be affected by inside as well as outside circumstances.
