"You have passed through life without an opponent," he said. "No one can ever know what you are capable of, not even you." These words were written by Seneca, on people who have never experienced misfortune.
When we face challenges, we find out things we didn't know before, or at least, were not aware of them. We find out just who we are.
Without any opposition, we are not pushed to strengthen our resolve to see things through. We might not enjoy it, but we have the opportunity to grow our faith, and strengthen our character.
Today, let us look upon our difficulties with a new perspective, knowing that going through the valley will make the mountaintop that much greater.
